WAUKESHA, Wis. – The MSOE men's basketball team were efficient as ever on Tuesday night as they shot 71 percent from the field to defeat Carroll University on the road heading into Thanksgiving weekend.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 88
Carroll - 80
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Carroll (2-4, 0-0 CCIW) started off hot with six straight point until a layup from Anay Amoah put MSOE (4-2, 0-1 NACC) got on the scoreboard two and a half minutes in. The Pioneers grew their lead back up to nine but until the Raiders reached the line multiple times after that and two free throws from Mason Dopirak tied the game at 15 with 11:57 remaining in the first half. A steal and layup from Dopirak right after gave the Raiders their first lead of the game and started rolling from there when the lead got as large as 15 after a layup from Carson Cordelli with under four minutes remained in the first half but the lead was cut to ten at the break 49-39.
- The Pioneers wouldn't go away completely out of the break, cutting their deficit all the way down to three just under a minute in. After Dopirak fed Ethan Johnson in the paint, the Raiders exploded on a 15-0 run after Cummings capped things with a three pointer from Joey Jendusa and then he grew the lead to 19 with a layup a few minutes later. Things became a game again late in the half when the Pioneers got the game all the way back to within four with under four minutes to play but could not get any closer than that as the free throws from the Raiders sealed things.
