SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The MSOE men's hockey team picked up their first road win of the season at Augsburg University. After both teams matched the others intensity in the first two periods, the Raiders came away victorious on their trip to the Twin Cities.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
Augsburg - 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Things were light in the first period with no action on the scoreboard but MSOE (3-5-1, 2-4-0 NCHA) outshot Augsburg (3-6-0, 1-3-0 MIAC) 10-7, going on a run of shots midway through that couldn't get past. Midway through the second period coming out of a faceoff, Seth Bernard took the rebound off a Rylan Jockims shot to get the scoring started for the 1-0 lead. The lead didn't long as less than 90 seconds later, the Auggies struck one to tie up the game at one heading into the second break.
- Halfway through the third, Bernard took the puck from center ice down the right side and fed back middle to Carson Jones for the go-ahead goal making the score 2-1. As time started to trickle down and the Auggies goalie was pulled, Eddie Shepler stole it from the Raiders blueline and set right in between the empty pipes to seal it.
