MILWAUKEE – Playing one last time before the calendar flipped to 2025, the MSOE men's basketball put together a massive second-half comeback over Elmhurst University Monday night but came up just short despite 30-point night from
Mason Dopirak.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 81
Elmhurst - 89
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Elmhurst (5-7, 1-2 CCIW) nailed a three-pointer to begin, MSOE (6-5, 2-2 NACC) didn't get their lone advantage of the game until just under 13 minutes left in the half when Dopirak nailed a three-pointer to take a 14-12 lead. The Bluejays went on an 11-2 run to lead 25-16 just minutes later before finishing the half with a three at the buzzer to extend the lead to 16 at the break 48-32.
- The Bluejays continued their efficient shooting they had in the first half as the lead grew to as large as 26. Just when the Bluejays thought they had things all wrapped up, a technical foul from them put a spark for the Raiders as Jonathan Burroughs nailed a three pointer with under four minutes to play that cut the deficit to 12. The deficit became single-digits when Dopirak nailed a jumper, and the Raiders crawled to within six after buckets from him and Donovan Carter in the final minute, but there was not enough time to cap it all off.
