MILWAUKEE – After falling short in the first two sets, the MSOE men's volleyball team didn't make it easy for #10 North Central College Thursday evening, unfortunately falling in four sets.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
#10 North Central - 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (3-2, 0-0 NACC) kicked off the game with the first three points before North Central (5-2, 0-0 CCIW) rattled off an 8-2 run to take a 16-11 lead midway through. Kills by Carter Shavitz brought hope late down 21-18 but was stopped short 25-20. The Raiders couldn't find anything offensively in the second set, only having four kills and four attacking errors to get blown away 25-15.
- The Raiders finally found the spark they needed as the third set began with Shavitz started with back-to-back kills on a 11-4 run. Ian Glashagel and Seth Thomas each added multiple kills to pull away as far as a nine-point lead, which proved useful after a long Cardinal run to hold them off 25-21.
- The sides battled to begin the fourth set, tied up at eleven before the Cardinals took the next three points. Later in the set, an ace from Thomas tied things back up at 21 with each sides taking two in a row to stay knotted at 23. The Raiders unfortunately couldn't stop the Cardinals on the final points to drop 25-23.
