KALAMAZOO, MIch. – The MSOE men's lacrosse team came up short in their trip to Kalamazoo on Saturday as the Raiders fell to the Hornets 12-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Raiders (2-2, 0-0 NACC) jumped out to an early lead over the Hornets (2-1) as Peter Russchenberg found the back of the net for his eighth goal of the season at the 10:20 mark of the first quarter.  The Hornets would swarm and rally, scoring four times in a six minute span to take a 4-1 lead.  Soren Savard and Luke Neal would respond for the Raiders with under 2:30 left on the clock to bring the score to 4-3 in favor of Kalamazoo.  Russchenberg would knot the game up for the Raiders in the opening moments of the second quarter, before the Hornets would retake the led mere minutes later.  Soren Savard added his second goal of the game at the 2:10 mark of the second quarter to bring the Raiders within a goal as they went to the halftime break trailing 6-5.
• The second half was all Kalamazoo, as the Hornets scored five straight unanswered goals as they shutout the Raiders in the third quarter.  Brooks McInerney scored his first career goal with 6:29 left on the clock, bringing the score to 11-6 in favor of the Hornets.  The Raiders would run out of time to bring themselves back as the Hornets ran away with the 12-6 victory.
