Men's Volleyball Sweeps Muskies to Close Homestand

MILWAUKEE – Looking to lock in a home game for the first round of the conference tournament, the MSOE men's volleyball swept Lakeland University Wednesday night to make it not the last time in the Kern this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Neither side set the tone in set one as it truly went back and forth throughout. As things remained tight down the stretch, MSOE (13-9, 9-2 NACC) showed the first signs of a momentum swing, closing out the set on a 6-2 run, capped by a kill from Eric Mueller for a 25-20 win.
  • The Raiders were dominant in set two, opening on a 17-5 run, including four service aces. Seth Thomas emerged as the leader in the set as the final point came on ace from him as they cruised 25-8 to take the set.
  • Lakeland (7-13, 4-6 NACC) picked up their play in the third set, having a short lead midway through. 14-13. A small 3-0 run with kills from Matthew Schultz and Carter Shavitz to put the Raiders back in the lead 16-14 and it was over from there. The Raiders closed on another 6-2 run to finish off the sweep 25-19.
