HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. Knox
- A kill from Emma Schattschneider kicked started the match before Knox (0-8, 0-0 MWC) took the next three points. Things started to become back-and-forth until the Prairie Fire went on a 5-0 run to take a 10-6 lead. MSOE (3-6, 0-0 NACC) slowly closed their gap as kills from Schattschneider and Ashley Murphy helped tie things at 17. The Raiders run continued the rest of the first set after it was capped by a kill Samantha Johnson to win 25-20.
- The Prairie Fire started the second set on a mini run once again until a 5-0 run including three kills from Murphy gave the Raiders a 9-8 lead. Things continued to stay tight as they battle to tie at 24 each to force extra points to be played. The Raiders shut the door on the Prairie Fire to take the second set after Sydney Emineth and Schattschneider took back-to-back kills to win the set 26-24.
- The Raiders exploded offensively in the third set to run away from the Prairie Fire. After each side battled to knot things up at seven, the Raiders busted out a 12-1 run, including three service aces from Ana Knutson, that essentially put the match away when Ava Larson nailed final kill to win 25-11.
- Schattschneider picked up 18 kills in the match, hitting .471 along with 12 digs and three service aces. Joelle Harrington and Morgan Borchardt split the assists duties evenly, each having 15, while Borchardt added a service ace of her own.
- vs. Central
- An early 4-0 run with three kills from Hannah Gilbert gave the Raiders a 7-4 advantage before just a few points later, Central (6-4, 0-0 American Rivers) started their own run, taking a 11-8 lead. Errors from the Dutch quickly turned things back over to the Raiders side as they took a 15-14 lead midway through, but they quickly regrouped to take the first set over the Red & White, 25-21.
- The Dutch locked in from there, as they totaled 12 kills in the second set, with four service aces as well. The Raiders fell behind 12-2 early on, eventually falling 25-10. The third set hoped to show improved after a Brooke Fledderman service ace early gave them a 3-2 lead, but the Dutch pulled away late to finish it off 25-16.
