Women's Soccer Smothers Lakeland in 6-0 Win

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The MSOE women's soccer team made their first conference road trip of the season on Wednesday night, as the Raiders reeled in a 6-0 win against the Muskies of Lakeland University.

RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 6
Lakeland Muskies – 0

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Raiders (6-3-0, 2-0-0 NACC) looked to extend their five-game winning streak against the Muskies (1-5-1, 0-2-1 NACC), as the Red and White began to light up the scoreboard in Plymouth with Rosario Etcheverria Abuin and Grace Quinn finding the back of the net in the first 25 minutes of play.  Faith Papazoglou would add her first goal of the season and another to MSOE's total, as the Raiders dominated the first half of play, heading into halftime up 3-0.
  • Abuin would tally her second goal of the evening coming out of the break, as MSOE was relentless on the offensive end, tallying their fifth goal just 12 minutes later courtesy of Elizabeth Kuhn.  Freshman Hadleigh Ostrenga would record one final goal for MSOE to cap off a 6-0 shutout win and extend MSOE's win streak against Lakeland to six games.
  • The Raiders held the Muskies to virtually no offense across 90 minutes of play, as Lakeland did not register a single shot all game, leading to a quiet night for goalkeepers Page Sanchez and Ayla Zuzek.
