HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (6-4-0, 2-1-0 NACC) found themselves on the defensive against the Scarlet Hawks (6-2-0, 3-0-0 NACC) as Illinois Tech recorded the first five shots of the game with Page Sanchez in goal for the Red and White. Sanchez was rock solid for the Red and White, shutting out Tech in the first half and recording three saves on nine opposing shots. The Raiders would only record three shots in the first half, as Rosario Etcheverria Abuin looked to continue her scoring streak but was turned away by the Scarlet Hawks keeper twice in the final ten minutes of the first half.
- The Raiders held off the Scarlet Hawks attack but were unable to generate any offense of their own against one of the top teams in the conference. Illinois Tech held the Raiders nearly shotless in the second half before getting one past MSOE with just over seven minutes left to play, breaking the tie and going up 1-0 on the Red and White. The Raiders had one last scoring chance with three minutes left on the clock, as Etcheverria Abuin just missed converting on a header from a Claire Bradford corner kick as time ran out on the chance of an MSOE comeback.
