HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (0-1, 0-0 NACC) took the opening serve to kick off their season and started on a 5-1 run after kills from Seth Thomas and Callan Harris. Baldwin Wallace (3-1, 0-0 MCVL) showed off their flashy serving right after that, going on an 8-2 run that included five service aces to go up 9-7. They continued to run their hot streak, leading to an easy first set win 25-15.
- Things were tightly contested to begin the second set with the Raiders leading 5-4 after a kill from James Zippay. After a quick 6-0 run from the Yellow Jackets, the two began trading points as the Raiders couldn't cut into the deficit they were in. Late in the set, the Yellow Jackets began to connect on nearly everything to finish the second set 25-15. The Yellow Jackets turned things up a notch, hitting .316 in the final set to build a comfortable lead early and run away for the sweep 25-12.
