DULUTH, Minn. – The MSOE men's hockey team kicked off the 2025-26 season, defeating the College of St. Scholastica. After going down 1-0 in early in the second, the Raiders scored three goals unanswered and then sealing the game with an empty net with under 30 seconds remaining.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Scholastica (0-1-0, 0-0-0 MIAC) outshot MSOE (1-0-0, 0-0-0 NCHA) 10-8 in the first period, along with the Raiders getting two power play opportunities as neither team could convert as they went into the first break scoreless.
- The Saints struck first a minute and a half into the start of the second to make it 1-0. Just past the halfway point, Seth Bernard sent a cross pass to a driving Ethan Mann for the first goal of the season to tie it up. Three minutes later, a faceoff win from Charles Fink made its way back to Cole Beilke, who sent it off the board to Jackson Yee to take the lead 2-1 heading into the second break.
- Nearing the end of a power play opportunity early in the third, Jacob Bosse was able to find Beilke on the right side, extending the lead to 3-1. The Saints were able to cut it to a one goal game with under a minute to play on a powerplay, but Bernard was able to seal the game with an empty net strike with 27 seconds remaining.
