RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Benedictine - 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After trading blows to begin, Benedictine (6-11, 2-2 NACC) took charge 5-0 run before a pair of kills from Ashley Murphy put the MSOE (4-13, 2-1 NACC) within striking distance 8-6. At the midway point, the Eagles roared away, going on an 8-0 run before sealing the set 25-10. The Raiders found success in a multitude of ways early in set two, making their lead as large as 19-10 as Ana Knutson finished the job to tie up the match, winning the set 25-19.
- Shades of set one reappeared in set three as the Eagles gained the momentum in what felt like a heartbeat, leading 11-3 to begin. An ace from Katie Taticek helped bring things to within four but the lead was too marginal as the Eagles took it 25-17. The Raiders got the first jump in set four as aces from Taticek and Morgan Borchardt gave them an 8-4 lead, but the Eagles used another long run, this time 9-0, to lead 18-13. It was easy cruising for the Eagles from there, taking the set 25-17.
