MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's volleyball honored its senior Saturday afternoon in their final home game, defeating Concordia University Chicago Cougars in straight sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Concordia Chicago (5-19, 1-10 NACC) was able to grab an early edge, taking an 11-6 lead to begin the match. Katie Taticek sparked a 6-0 with two kills to take a 12-11 advantage. Both sides went back-and-forth, forcing the set well past the 25-point mark until an ace from Maddie Abel clinched the set, 29-27.
• The Cougars kicked off the second set in full force, opening on a 7-1 run, draining the momentum the Raiders created at the end of set one. After seeing their deficit become as large as eleven, the Raiders stormed all the way, forcing set point as they took a 24-23 lead. The Cougars then rebounded to tie it on it on the next point before Alyssa Rusch knocked in a kill and then forced a Cougar error to win the set 26-24.
• Both teams took mini runs all the way past the midway point of the third set until the Raiders made a big splash, going on a 7-1 run that was capped by a kill from Gillian McDaniel to take a 18-13 lead. The Cougars eventually tied the set at 22 to try and force a fourth set but couldn't overcome their own miscues as an error from them ended the match 25-23.
