ADRIAN, Mich – The MSOE men's hockey team closed out the weekend series against the #3 Adrian College Bulldogs on Saturday evening, as the Raiders were unable to even the season series against their nationally-ranked foe.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
#3 Adrian College Bulldogs – 6
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (6-4-1, 4-3-1 NCHA) fell behind #3 Adrian (8-2-0, 6-2-0 NCHA) just 2:07 into the game, as the Bulldogs recorded an even strength goal to take the early lead. The Raiders would shut down three Bulldog powerplay opportunities in the first period, but the short-handed time hampered the offense as MSOE went to the first intermission trailing 1-0.
- In the second period, it was Jacob Bosse who would tie things up for the Red and White, tallying the game-tying goal at the 7:33 mark to knot things up at 1-1. The Bulldogs would regain the lead at the 10:57 mark, before Adrian registered another goal not even a minute later, putting the Raiders behind 3-1 just past the midway point of the game.
- After Adrian took a commanding 6-1 lead at the midway point of the third period, the Raiders would show signs of life, with two Seth Bernard goals in just over a three-minute span cut the Adrian lead to 6-3. With just six minutes to play however, time would run out on the Raiders as they fall to the Bulldogs and turn their attention to their outdoor game next weekend in Minnesota.
