Mason Dopirak.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 86
Dominican - 76
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dominican (7-16, 4-12 NACC) established the game early on to be a physical game as they held the advantage through the first five minutes. After Chase Cummings nailed a three from CJ Valente, MSOE (16-7, 12-4 NACC) took a 16-14 advantage which established the momentum on their side. A pair of free-throws from Ethan Johnson gave the Raiders a five-point advantage with 11:28 remaining in the first half, but with almost five minutes left to play was cut after the Stars took a two-point lead. Dopirak began to get the hot hand as the half rolled to a close, leading the Raiders to a four-point advantage at the break, 39-35.
- Out of the break, Valente made the Raiders lead six when Carson Cordelli fed him inside, but quickly was cut back down to two after the Stars continued to attack the paint. Back-to-back threes from Cummings and Joey Jendusa later in the half extended the lead up to eight and the advantage went all the way to double-digits with 8:39 remaining from Cordelli. The Stars wouldn't quit getting things back to a four-point game with 5:32 remaining, but after Dopirak took the long inbound pass in for a layup, things were sealed inside the Kern Center.
