RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The MSOE men's volleyball team headed on the road for their conference opener Saturday, defeating Concordia University Chicago in four sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Seth Thomas connected for a kill on the opening point, Concordia Chicago (5-8, 1-1 NACC) connected on the next four for the early advantage. The MSOE (2-8, 1-0 NACC) offense began to find a rhythm as Callan Harris racked up seven kills, including the final point as they took the first set 25-20.
- After a slow start, Harris led back a charge to take the 15-12 lead midway through. A 4-0 run that included back-to-back kills from Thomas put things ahead 22-16 before errors from the Cougars aided the set two win 25-17. The Cougars created a sense of urgency for themselves in the third, tightly contesting the Raiders late, closing on a 6-1 run to keep the match going 25-22.
- In the fourth set, the Raiders picked back up the momentum from the previous sets, making a 7-1 run that included two aces from Harris to make it 10-5. Later in the set, Harris and Matthew Schultz became a tag team at the net, making three blocks together in the middle of a 6-0 run as the Raiders completely torched the Cougars to take it 25-15.
