DE PERE, Wis. – The MSOE women's basketball team closed out the regular season on Saturday afternoon against the Green Knights of St. Norbert College, as the Raiders fell in the rematch of their historic win from earlier this season.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 41
St. Norbert College - 61
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (14-11, 10-6 NACC) was unable to get in any offensive rhythm in the first quarter, as St. Norbert (20-4, 15-1 NACC) held the Red and White scoreless from deep and from the free throw line, with The Raiders shooting a combined 0-for-8. Trailing 22-8 at the start of the second quarter, Halena Hill would convert on an attempt in the paint, as the Raiders tried to work the deficit back to single digits. Lana Kerley and Nina Perl would end the Red and White's cold streak from three-point range, but the Green Knights were in the driver's seat, leading 36-18 at half.
- Dani Mendez would kick off the third quarter scoring with a couple free throws, with the Raiders needing to go on a run to get back into the game. The Raiders would get hot late in the frame as Hill and Mendez continued to convert from the free throw line, but the Green Knights would continue to be efficient, holding a 13-point lead at the start the fourth quarter. It was all St. Norbert the rest of the way, as they avenged their earlier loss to the Raiders, who finish with a 10-6 conference record, locking up the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament.
