RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
Concordia Wisconsin - 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (8-9, 6-1 NACC) came out of the gates with authority in the first set, hitting .440 and committing just two errors. After opening the match with a block from Tommy Clausz and Seth Thomas, the Raiders took a 13-4 lead, that ended with three-straight kills from Callan Harris. Concordia Wisconsin (4-12, 2-3 NACC) began to hold their own from there and slim their margin to with five late in the set, but a kill from Thomas ended it with the Raiders taking set one 25-18.
- The Falcons used a 6-0 run in the middle of the second to boost their momentum to take it 25-23, despite a late charge from the Raiders. In the third set, it was a neck and neck battle to begin until the midway point when the Raiders took the slight edge after Clausz and Harris teamed up for a block to take a 20-15 lead. As the Falcons continued to battle, an attack error from them gave the Raiders the set win, 25-21.
- Thomas helped lead the Raiders to open the fourth set as the Raider went ahead 7-3 early on before a 5-0 run later on that had two aces from Parker Rings gave them a 17-7 lead. Despite later in the set the Falcons chipping away at the deficit, Thomas put the final nail in the coffin to win 25-20.
