Harris Kills 20 in Loss at #13 Duhawks

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The MSOE men's volleyball team traveled to Iowa for their final non-conference matchup of the season, taking on #13 Loras College. Callan Harris racked up a season high 20-kills but come up short over the Duhawks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After taking a short lead early, massive miscues from MSOE (8-10, 6-1 NACC) gave Loras (12-3, 3-1 CCIW) a 9-5 lead before making it 14-6 midway through. Late in the set, the Raiders brought it within a one-point game after Matthew Schultz slammed one home to make it 22-21. The Duhawks then trickled off the final point they need to take it 25-22.
  • Midway through the second set was when the Raiders made a charge to hold onto the lead after Schultz and Kubon combined for a block and Schultz added another slam to make it 16-12. The Duhawks clawed back to tied the set at 19 but the Raiders close with a 3-0 run including Schultz stuffing the ball at the net on set point to win 25-22.
  • The Duhawks had everything click for them offensively in the third, making just one attack error and made three service aces to completely dominate and win 25-11. The Raiders regrouped for the fourth set, with Harris nailing a kill to tie up the set at 12 midway through. A 5-1 run later on gave the Duhawks a 21-15 lead before finishing the Raiders of with a 25-19 win.
