HOW IT HAPPENED
- Matthew Schultz helped lead a hot start for MSOE (11-10, 9-1 NACC) as they jumped out to a 12-5 lead before Dominican cut it to a one-point deficit at the midway point. Back-to-back kills from Seth Thomas pushed the lead to three and despite the Stars tying up the set at 22, miscues from the road team gave the Red & White the set one win 25-22.
- Tommy Clausz had the hot hand to begin set two before the Stars grabbed the lead at the 10-9 mark. A pair of miscues later in the set gave the Raiders a 20-19 lead before they closed on a 5-0 run with Clausz and Callan Harris teaming up on the block for the final point to take the second set 25-20.
- The Stars miscues came in a massive wave to begin the third set as the Raiders took a 9-2 lead in the blink of an eye. A 6-0 run midway through helped the Stars cut the deficit to one before Harris found a rhythm offensively and help build the lead 22-18. After a small run from the Stars brought it back to one, back-to-back aces from Parker Rings put the final nail in the coffin 25-21.
