HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (0-1-0, 0-0-0 NACC) recorded the first shot of the game off the foot of Rosario Etcheverria Abuin get saved by the Hope goalkeeper in the sixth minute, before the Flying Dutch (1-0-0, 0-0-0 MIAA) went down the pitch to record the opening goal of the game in the ninth minute. Hope tallied another goal less than three minutes later, as the Raiders trailed 2-0 less than fifteen minutes into the season. The Raiders struggled to get any momentum on the offensive end as they trailed the Flying Dutch 3-0 at halftime, being outshot 11-1 across the first 45 minutes of play.
- Abuin would record a couple more shots for the Raiders to open the second half but was unable to beat the Flying Dutch defense to find the back of the goal. The Raiders defense was able to right the wrongs of the first half, slowing down the Hope attack and giving the Red and White an opening to respond. Despite a couple late shots from Abuin and Elizabeth Kuhn, the Raiders were unable to get on the scoreboard, dropping their season opener by a final score of 3-0.
