MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's soccer team secured their first win of the season on Wednesday afternoon, as the Raiders struck twice in the second half to triumph over the Titans of UW-Oshkosh
RESULT
UW-Oshkosh Titans – 1
MSOE Raiders – 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (1-4-1, 0-0-0 NACC) and Titans (1-1-2, 0-0-0 WIAC) played almost identical across the first 45 minutes of play, with each squad racking up six shots. Rachael Klamecki would put the first on goal for the Raiders but was saved by the Titans goalkeeper, while Page Sanchez saved three straight shots in an early barrage from UWO. With the scoreboard still spotless in the final ten minutes of the half MSOE nearly broke the seal after good chances from Elizabeth Kuhn and Hadleigh Ostrenga but would head to the break still knotted up at 0-0.
- In the 61st minute, Samantha Fleischman would put the Red and White up 1-0 on an assist from Kuhn, but the Titans responded back immediately, as UWO added a goal of their own less than 40 seconds later as the teams found themselves in a stalemate once more. With just over 20 minutes left to play, Kuhn would score unassisted to give the Raiders a 2-1 lead as they fought for their first victory of the 2025 campaign. Alexis Jamiola, Samantha Shaver and the rest of the Raider defense would shut down the Titans attack, holding UWO to just one shot on goal the rest of the way as MSOE capped off their run of four games in six days on a high note before conference play.
