MEQUON, Wis. – The MSOE men's soccer team secured another conference win on Saturday afternoon, as the Raiders posted their fifth shutout win of the season after holding Concordia Wisconsin scoreless.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
CUW Falcons - 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (6-4-3, 5-1-2 NACC) and Falcons (2-9-1, 1-6-0 NACC) were deadlocked through a majority of the first half, despite the Red and White outshooting the opposition fourteen to three in the opening 45 minutes, including a clean look from Steven Thomas that was turned away by the CUW keeper. With just under seven minutes to play in the first half, Diego Gonzalo would feed a pass to Lachlan Ladd, putting the Raiders up 1-0 as the teams went to the halftime break.
- Coming out of halftime, the Raiders would get right back to work on the offensive end, as the third time proved to be a charm after a trio of corner kicks, with Ditar Useni finding Chase Frea, as the Waukesha native scored his first career goal to double the Red and White's lead. From there, the Raiders would not take their foot off the gas, racking up another ten shots in the second half, as MSOE totaled four times as many shots as CUW by the time the final buzzer rang.
