HOW IT HAPPENED
  • MSOE (18-7, 16-2 NACC) made the statement early, opening the game on a 7-0 run with five of those coming from Mason Dopirak until Aurora (20-5, 15-3 NACC) knocked in a three to get on the board at 16:49. The Raiders extended the lead to eight after a jumper from Carson Cordelli but the Spartans came back to tie the game at 13 with 12:49 remaining in the first half. The Spartans would take the lead 18-17 just minutes later but it wouldn't last long as the Raiders went on a 10-0 run to lead by nine as Brock Adams knocked in a pair of free throws. The Spartans would cut that lead down to close the half, making it 35-32 in favor of the Red & White at the break.
  • After tying the game at 39 to start the half, the Raiders went full force on a 9-0 run capped by a slam from Jonathan Burroughs to lead 48-39 at the first media timeout. The run was answered and the game was back tied up with 13:03 to play as another 9-0 run happened for the Raiders to lead with 9:30 to play. After trading buckets, the Raiders went full force, taking their largest lead of the day at 16 with 1:41 remaining to seal things.
