MILWAUKEE – Mason Dopirak dropped a new career and NACC Tournament high 46 points as the top seed MSOE men's basketball team rolled past No. 8 seed Lakeland University to open the NACC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Back-to-back jumpers from Chase Cummings and Jonathan Burroughs led the hot start for MSOE (19-7, 16-2) before Lakeland (9-17, 7-11 NACC) got on the board two minutes in. The Raiders led by seven out of the first media timeout after Dopirak dished one into Ethan Johnson, but the Muskies cut it down to a one-point game, dancing with an opportunity to take the lead. Dopirak brought the lead up to double digits with 4:44 remaining in the first half as Carson Cordelli laid one in right before the break to lead 40-29.
• The Muskies brought it back down to a single-digit game nearly three minutes into the second half beginning. Dopirak began to heat up as he hit 13 of the Raiders' next 19 points to lead by 15 with 11:01 to play. Dopirak would then hit another three, making the Kern Center rock, with 5:39 remaining, going up 83-65. He would then seal the game with a layup with 3:02 to go, leading by 20, to advance to Thursday.
