MILWAUKEE – In a battle of ranked teams in conference action, the #18 MSOE men's volleyball took down #9 Aurora University on the road to sit alone at the top of the conference standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (15-6, 8-0 NACC) grabbed the first advantage after Callan Harris knocked in back-to-back kills with Seth Thomas and Hunter Carroll teaming up for a block to cap the run to lead 8-5. Aurora (16-5, 7-2 NACC) tied things up just before the midway point at 11 before SJ Nelson for the Spartans went on a tear with four straight kills and a solo block to lead the Red & White 16-14. The Raiders tied things up at 19 but couldn't muster up a run to take the set, dropping set one 25-22.
- The Raiders' offense clicked early in set two, killings five of their first seven points to lead 7-2. An ace from Thomas gave them their largest lead 18-12 before blowing it open to 23-15 late with Carroll finishing off the set with a kill from the middle to win 25-18. The Raiders strung things together quickly once again in set three, leading 8-3 with four coming on kills and Gregory Kubon adding in an ace. The Spartans cut it to a two-point deficit at 11-9 but didn't slow the Raiders one bit as Thomas and Carroll connected on two more kills with Harris acing set point to win 25-19.
- It was all Spartans in set four as the Raiders couldn't land many of their attacks in play to drop the set 25-13 to force a winner take all set five. Matthew Schultz got set five started with a kill before teaming up Kubon for a kill to lead 3-0 to begin. The Spartans cut it down to one at 6-5 until the acing from Thomas began to catch fire, connecting back-to-back to lead 9-5. The Raiders never allowed to Spartans to get any closer as Kubon fired in the last kill to win 15-10.
