Men's Lacrosse Demolishes Dubuque Spartans

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The MSOE men's lacrosse team earned its third conference win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating the University of Dubuque, 13–7, and spoiling the Spartans' Senior Day festivities.

RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 13
University of Dubuque – 7

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • MSOE (7–3, 3-1 NACC) found themselves trailing Dubuque (4-5, 2-2) after the Spartans tallied the first goal of the game just 89 seconds into the contest for a 1-0 lead over the Raiders.  The Spartans lead would last for all of seven seconds as Graden Jansen continued his dominance in the faceoff circle, winning the draw and setting up Isaac Johnston for the early equalizer.  The Red and White would rip off seven consecutive goals across the first and second quarters, including back-to-back strikes from Dawson Smith.  The Raiders would head to the break leading 9-3, outshooting the Spartans 22-21.
  • Coming out of halftime, Smith converted his second unassisted effort of the afternoon, securing his fourth hat trick of the season and twelfth of his career.  From there, it was all MSOE, despite a late fourth quarter push from the Spartans.  Goalie Alex Lo would post double-digit saves for the second straight game, while the MSOE defense combined to force seven turnovers, with Tom Farren and Cody Thoresen recording multiple.  The Raiders improve their road record to 2-2, with away games remaining on the 2026 schedule.
