MILWAUKEE – Jessa Alderman and
Sam McPeak have earned NACC weekly honors for their performances last week at the Rex Foster Twilight.
Alderman, a senior from Janesville, Wisconsin, was field athlete of the week after posting the top mark in NCAA Division III in the shot put with a throw of 14.91 meters (48-11). She broke both NACC and MSOE records in the event and tops the national performance list by over 2.5 feet. The previous NACC record of 14.81 meters (48-7 1/4) was set by Benedictine's Kash Allen at the 2023 NCAA Championships. Alderman also finished second in the discus throw (41.28m; 135-5) and sixth in the hammer throw (42.49m; 139-5).
McPeak, a junior from Dublin, Ohio, was track athlete of the week as he won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the UW-Whitewater Rex Foster Twilight. His time of 9:20.24 currently ranks 15th on the NCAA Division III performance list.
The Raiders compete this weekend at the Marquette Invitational starting tomorrow, April 10
th, with the hammer throw and javelin. A select group of men will also head to Platteville for the UW-Platteville 5,000-meter tomorrow night as well.
