ST. PETER, Minn. – The MSOE women's soccer team posted their first shutout win of the season on Saturday afternoon, as the Raiders recorded a clean sheet against the Golden Gusties with a late goal propelling MSOE to victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (2-2-1, 0-0-0 NACC) and Golden Gusties (1-3-1) both came out of the gates firing on the offensive end, with both teams combining for seven shots by midway through the first half. Teya Baxter recorded two saves in the first half, and despite shots on goal from Shealan Biniam and Faith Papazoglou, the teams remained scoreless as they went to halftime.
- Coming out of the break, the Gusties recorded the first shot on goal of the second half, with Baxter making the save once again. After a series of substitutions from both teams, the Raiders would take advantage of the chess match. Following a turnover from Gustavus, Olivia Zersen, Papazoglou and Macie Herting played tic-tac-toe inside the box, with Herting taking advantage of the double assist for her second goal of the season. Her goal would prove to be the game winner, as the MSOE defense held the Gusties to one shot in the final fifteen minutes to pick up the win.
