MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The MSOE women's soccer team opened conference play on Wednesday night, as the Raiders scored a thrilling win in their first home game of the season, taking down the Dominican Stars in the closing minutes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (3-2-2, 1-0-0 NACC) and Stars (2-1-2, 0-1-0 NACC) played a scoreless first half, despite a great scoring look for the Red and White from Claire Bradford, who was denied a goal by a Dominican defender making a lunging save to keep the game deadlocked at 0-0. Sarai DeSouza would put a shot on goal for the Raiders just before the break, with the Stars recording another save. The Raiders would hold Dominican to just two shots in the first half, while racking up five of their own.
- In the second half, the Raiders would continue to produce chances on the offensive end but were unable to find the back of the net against the stout defense of the Stars. With time beginning to run out on the Raiders, their intensity only continued to ramp up, and following a corner kick from Bradford and a couple of wild rebounds it was Alexis Lugonzo who came through in the clutch for the Raiders. The sophomore would use to left foot to deliver the game-winning goal to the back of the net, putting the Raiders ahead with 95 seconds left to play, hanging on to score the first conference win of the season in their first game at Viets Field.
