MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The MSOE women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon, as the Raiders and Cougars of Concordia Chicago went to a scoreless draw at Viets Field.
RESULT
Concordia Chicago Cougars – 0
MSOE RAIDERS - 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (3-2-3, 1-0-1 NACC) dominated the time of possession against the Cougars (2-4-1, 1-0-1 NACC) but the Red and White were unable to produce many scoring chances in the first half. Both Hadleigh Ostrenga and Kiley Schmitt would see decent looks for the Raiders, with Ostrenga's shot being stopped by the Cougars goalkeeper and Schmitt's going just high. MSOE and CUC would head to the break with no goals for either squad after 45 minutes of play.
- In the second half, the Raiders would have a flurry of shots on goal, with CUC stopping both Katie Owens and Faith Papazoglou's shots. The Raiders would see more chances down the stretch, as they would finish the game without allowing a single shot on goal from the Cougars. With less than a minute on the clock, a chance from the corner looked to spark another last-minute comeback from the Red and White, but after Alexis Lugonzo was stopped point blank the Raiders were unable to make a goal out of a rugby scrum in the box, tying the Cougars in a scoreless draw.
