MONTGOMERY, Ill. – In a rematch of the last two NACC championship games, the MSOE men's soccer team battled Aurora University in a massive defensive battle, coming up short in a one-goal difference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aurora (6-2-1, 3-1-0 NACC) looked to put pressure on early as the first shot of the game was saved by Christian Dershem just 1:50 into the game. MSOE (3-4-2, 2-1-1 NACC) had their first opportunity just over two minutes later as Filip Aniecko fired one to the top right corner, but was saved by the Spartans keeper. For the remainder of the first half, the lone shot on target came at 21:40 as Juan Pablo Escobar took a shot towards the goal that was saved as the two were dead locked at the half.
- The Spartans would once again get the first shot off to open the second half before in the 59th minute would have a penalty kick opportunity, sending it in to take the lead. Diego Gonzalo sent off a shot in the 79th minute that sailed high and playing down a man for the final ten minutes, the Raiders could only get one shot off Gonzalo with just 26 seconds remaining but was saved.
