FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The MSOE men's soccer team cruised to victory on Wednesday night, as the Raiders tallied six goals in a blowout win over the Marian Sabres on the road.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 6
Marian Sabres – 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (4-4-2, 3-1-1 NACC) wasted little time getting out in front of the Sabres (1-7-1, 1-4-0 NACC) after two early yellow cards were assessed against Marian in the opening eight minutes. Just 51 seconds later, Gunnar Peterson would put the Raiders on the board thanks to an assist from Filip Aniecko on a corner kick, jump starting a run of four MSOE goals in a span of less than fifteen minutes. Aniecko would record a goal of his own a mere three minutes later, before Irfan Sarvan fed Nico Picha to put MSOE up 3-0 at the 16:39 mark. Diego Gonzalo would cap off the rush of offense from the Red and White courtesy of a double assist from Juan Pablo Escobar and Chase Frea. The Raiders would hold their 4-0 lead as they went to the break allowing just two shots from the Sabres in the first half.
- Coming out of the break, the Raiders would fend off a streak of corner attempts from the Sabres, before Picha would record his second goal of the afternoon after an assist from Nate Gendrich, pushing the MSOE lead to 5-0. Just over five minutes of gametime later, Joris Teetzmann would record his first career goal after a corner assist from Emerson Rush, capping off the victory as the Red and White stopped the Sabres from getting on the board in a 6-0 shutout.
