CHICAGO, Ill. – The MSOE women's soccer team secured their first win of the 2026 season on Thursday night, as the Raiders vanquished the Vikings of North Park University in a 2-1 road triumph.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (1-1-0, 0-0-0 NACC) and Vikings (1-1-0, 0-0-0 CCIW) traded looks across the opening minutes of the game, as Teya Baxter stopped the first Vikings shot on goal before both Shealan Biniam and Hadleigh Ostrenga were turned away by the North Park goalkeeper. After checking into the game a mere 28 seconds earlier, Macie Herting would be in the right place at the right time with chaos in the box, as teammate Alexis Lugonzo fed the freshman the assist on her first career goal, putting the Raiders up 1-0. The Raiders lead would hold at the break, with the Red and White outshooting the opposition 6-3 after 45 minutes of play.
- In the second half, the Vikings would eventually sustain an offensive attack and following a corner kick, the game was tied up at 1-1 with the Raiders seeking their first win of the season in their second try. With just under nine minutes left in the contest, Kit Gormley would bend a corner kick like Beckham, dropping the ball in the bottom left corner of the goal. The rest of the Raiders both on the field and the bench erupted in enthusiasm, as they held off the Vikings to secure the 2-1 lead. With the win, the Raiders have won their last three matchups with North Park, dating back to 2018.
