Box Score FIND DU LAC, Wis. - Freshman James Ring scored the go-ahead goal with 5:52 remaining in regulation to propel the MSOE hockey team to a 3-1 victory over Marian Saturday evening at Blue Line Family Ice Center.
The Raiders (2-4, 2-4 NCHA) completed the weekend sweep of the Sabres (2-4, 2-4 NCHA) after a 3-1 win in the series opener Friday in Milwaukee.
Sophomore Brent Wilcox had a goal and assist in the game, getting MSOE on the board in the closing minutes of the first period with a short-handed goal. He put his team ahead off assists from senior Logan Bauman and sophomore Gage Christianson at 17:26.
Marian pulled a goal back when Warren Carter lit the lamp late in the second period, making it 1-1 at 16:15.
As regulation was winding down, Wilcox and freshman Jerad Tafoya set up Ring for the late winner.
For the second-straight night, freshman Omar Mullan put a cap on the win by scoring an empty netter. This time, MU pulled its goalie with a minute to play and Mullan finished his team-leading goal with just 11 seconds remaining in the game off assists from fellow rookies Dylan Dailey and Zach Simpson.
Junior Nick Kohn manned the goal for the second-straight night and picked up his second-straight win. He conceded just the one goal and made 24 saves in the game.
With exams at MSOE next week, the Raiders get next weekend off. They return to the ice Thanksgiving weekend hosting NCHA newcomer Aurora in a Saturday-Sunday series.
