EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The MSOE hockey team fell to No. 13/12 UW-Eau Claire 4-0 Friday evening at Hobbs Ice Center.

The Raiders (6-5) saw their six-game winning streak come to an end with the loss at the hands of the Blugolds (6-3-2).

The home team struck for single goals in each of the first two periods and added a pair of insurance scores in the final frame.

MSOE pressed for its first goal throughout the night, putting 34 shots on the UWEC goal, but Tyler Green was up to the task and posted the shutout in goal.

Preston Hodge got the Blugolds on the board with a power play goal at 15:43 of the opening period. They got another power play goal in the second period, as Ethan Nauman scored the first of two goals with his team on the man advantage just over five minutes into the frame.

Nauman and Patrick Moore each scored even-strength goals just over 10 minutes apart to seal the victory.

UW-Eau Claire held a 43-34 shot advantage in the game. Junior Nick Kohn made 39 saves on the night. Offensively, freshman Eric Tien led the efforts with five shots. Junior Kevin LoGiudice and freshman Omar Mullan had four shots apiece. Mullan saw his nine-game point-scoring streak come to an end.

The Raiders make the trek back to Milwaukee tonight and return to the ice Saturday, hosting UW-Superior at 5 p.m.
