Box Score MILWAUKEE - Oscar Larsson scored a power play goal 2:08 into overtime to send Northland past the MSOE hockey team 2-1 Saturday afternoon at the Kern Center.
The Raiders (3-3, 3-3 NCHA) trailed by a goal for most of the game before lighting the lamp midway through the third period to tie up the Lumberjacks (1-5, 1-3 NCHA) and force overtime.
Northland's breakthrough goal came while on a power play after a five-minute major was called for checking from behind on MSOE. It was the only shot taken in overtime.
Despite dominating possession and the shot totals, 48-23, the Raiders were stymied at every turn by NC's AJ Smith. The visiting netminder stopped 47 shots in the game.
The Jacks took a 1-0 lead at 16:38 of the opening period. After a scoreless second period that saw the Red & White hold a commanding 22-9 shot advantage, sophomore James Ring got his team on the board with assists from junior Cody Ganchar and freshman Matthew Romund.
