Box Score DePERE, Wis. – The 15th-ranked MSOE hockey team allowed three goals in the second period and could not recover in falling to No. 7 St. Norbert Saturday evening at the Cornerstone Community Ice Center.
The Raiders (17-11) saw their season come to an end, while the Green Knights (20-5-2) advanced to next weekend's NCHA Championship game at Adrian.
After a scoreless first period, the home team got on the scoreboard behind a pair of goals by Chris Rial. Ross Pavek then added an insurance goal for a 3-0 lead.
MSOE got a goal back midway through the third period, as freshman Zach Simpson struck for a power play goal at 10:10 of the period to make it 3-1. Unfortunately, that was as close as the team would get.
Junior Nick Kohn made 28 saves in the game to keep the Raiders in the game.
St. Norbert held a 31-17 shot advantage in the game, including a 12-4 edge in what proved to be the decisive second period.
