Raiders Settle for Series Split With #13 Lake Forest

Box Score

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Junior Nick Kohn made 29 saves to lead the MSOE hockey team in action Saturday, as it fell to #13/12 Lake Forest 2-0 at the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

The Raiders (14-9, 9-7 NCHA) won the series opener Friday, but had to settle for the weekend split with the Foresters (14-4-5, 12-3-1 NCHA).

For the second-straight game in the series, Lake Forest jumped ahead with a first-period goal. Unlike Friday, MSOE was unable to solve the Forester defense to get the equalizer.

Jordan Bruce got the scoring started 5:56 into the first period. LFC then added an insurance goal with 6:25 remaining in regulation. Jack Lewis picked up the goal that sealed the victory for the home team.

Kohn was strong in goal, but the Raider offense was unable to solve the LFC defense on the other end. Leo Podolsky stopped all 23 shots he faced to get the shutout.

The Raiders close out the regular season next weekend, playing a home-and-home series with Concordia Wisconsin. The series gets underway Friday in Mequon.
