Box Score

MEQUON, Wisconsin – The MSOE hockey team could not overcome an early 2-0 lead in falling to Concordia Wisconsin 4-2 Friday evening at the Ozaukee Ice Center.

The Raiders (1-2, 1-2 NCHA) pulled within one goal of the Falcons (1-2, 1-2 NCHA) on two different occasions, but could not find the equalizer.

CUW struck first just 2:10 into the game and tacked on another score at 13:57 of the first period to make it 2-0.

Sophomore Matthew Romund pulled a goal back just 93 seconds later on the power play. He was assisted by junior James Ring and senior Gage Christianson.

The Falcons scored the lone goal of the second period before Ring pulled his team within one goal again. He was assisted by junior Conner Enciso.

The Raiders ended the game on a power play for just under the final two minutes of regulation, playing with an empty net for much of that time for a 6-on-4 man advantage. The move led to four shots, but they could not find the equalizer.

At the other end of the ice, Concordia was able to capitalize for an open net goal with one second remaining.

Shots were 25-25, while both teams had five power plays. Junior Zach Woodman got the start in goal and made 21 saves. Jack Romanuick made 23 saves for CUW.

The series shifts to the Kern Center Saturday. These teams will face-off again at 7 pm.
