MILWAUKEE – Three different players scored as the MSOE hockey team skated to a 3-3 draw with Concordia Wisconsin Saturday evening at the Kern Center.

The Raiders (1-2-1, 1-2-1 NCHA) led 3-1 after two periods, but could not hold off the Falcons (1-2-1, 1-2-1 NCHA) in the third period.

Senior Gage Christianson, junior James Ring and sophomore Matthew Romund scored goals for MSOE, with Christianson and Romund lighting the lamp on power plays. Each player added an assist, while junior Jerad Tafoya tallied two assists.

Christianson opened the scoring just over the midway point of the first period, staking his team to a 1-0 lead at 11:11.

CUW would pull even two minutes into the second period, but the rest of the period was dominated by the Red & White. The home team had four power plays in the frame, leading to 12 shots, and posted a 19-6 shot advantage. Romund was the first Raider to strike pay dirt on a power play at 10:49.

Ring then followed suit at 13:52, finishing off his own rebound to make it 3-1.

The Falcons then pulled within 3-2 at 10:26 of the third period. They pulled their goalie in the final minute and capitalized with the extra attacker with just 29 seconds remaining, scoring off the skate of Nick Erb.

The game went into overtime. MSOE had the better of the chances in the extra period, but could not put an end to the game.

The Raiders outshot CUW 40-29 on the night and went 2-for-7 on the power play. Senior Austin Campbell made his season debut in goal and stopped 26 shots.

MSOE is back in action next weekend, hitting the road for a series at Northland, beginning Friday night.
