MILWAUKEE – Sometimes when things aren't going your way, they really don't go your way. MSOE hockey took a 3-2 lead into the final period of play but came away on the losing end of a 5-4 score against No. 7 Lake Forest on Tuesday evening inside the Kern Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Having gave up 12 goals over the weekend to Marian, the MSOE (6-7-4, 1-7-4 NCHA) defense held steady in the opening 20 minutes against one of the top teams in the nation in No. 7 Lake Forest (14-2-1, 11-1-0). The Raiders and Logan Halladay turned aside all nine shots that came their way but couldn't get any of their ten to go either as the first period ended tied at 0-0. The goals came early and often for the Raiders in the second, however. The Red & White tallied three goals less than five minutes apart as Nate Rogers, Jeff Makowski, and Kyle Herbster each found the back of the net. Unfortunately, what would happen next let all of the air out of the sails. The Foresters answered back with five straight goals between 9:16 in the second and 8:56 in the third, three of which were power play goals. The Raiders got within one after a Garrett Gintoli extra man tally, but that was all MSOE could muster as they drop their third straight.
