Box Score MILWAUKEE – With time winding down and only a handful of points remaining in the 2019-20 regular season, MSOE hockey desperately needed to come away from this weekend with four of the 16 available. They'll have to hope that they can salvage two tomorrow as the Raiders fall to Concordia Wisconsin 6-3 on Friday night.
RESULTS
Concordia Wisconsin – 5
MSOE – 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a tight contest for most of the night as neither team really jumped out to too much of an advantage for long. Concordia Wisconsin (11-5-2, 7-4-2 NCHA) outscored MSOE (6-8-4, 1-8-4 NCHA) 2-1 in the first period, with Nate Rogers picking up the lone Raider goal. CUW would manage a brief two goal lead early on in the second, but Garrett Gintoli brought the Red & White back within one thanks to assists from Jack Nickels and Adam Ostrowski. The Raiders evened things up at 3:38 in the third with a Kyle Herbster power play goal, but once again the bottom fell out towards the tail end of the game. The Falcons rallied off three straight goals, including an empty netter to seal the deal at 18:47. With the loss, MSOE falls ten points behind the last playoff spot in the south (owned by Concordia Wisconsin) with just 14 points left available.
