Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE hockey entered tonight knowing what they needed to do to stay alive in the NCHA postseason hunt. Unfortunately, Trine would not cooperate with the Raiders needs. The scoreboard showed all one's after 65 minutes of play as the Red & White find themselves in a tie for the sixth time this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (8-8-6, 3-8-6 NCHA) was the first on the board this evening in what was viewed as a very positive way to start a must win matchup. Adem Arifi set up Will Gauthier for his seventh goal of the season just 3:54 into the start of the first period. For Arifi, it was his second assist of the season and the first since tallying one back on Nov. 8th against Northland. The Raiders would hold onto that lead for about nine minutes before Trine (11-8-3, 9-5-3 NCHA) took advantage of a 5-on-3 opportunity to tie the game at 1-1. The score would stay that way for the rest of the contest. Shots came at a premium tonight with the Raiders holding the slight edge 25-24. The Red & White also had trouble staying out of the box as they were hit with eight penalties for a total of 19 minutes. Give the MSOE penalty kill credit however as they kept the Thunder scoreless during those opportunities five out of the six times. Trine outshot the Raiders 4-2 in the five-minute overtime period but none of the six total shots found the back of the net as the game ended all knotted up at a goal apiece. Unfortunately, with the tie the Raiders have been eliminated from Harris Cup playoff contention due to lack of points remaining.
