FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The road has not been easy, but MSOE had finally arrived at game one of the 2021 NCHA Harris Cup Finals. The Raiders got off to a good start but could not find any additional offense after their first goal, falling to the Marian Sabres 3-1 in game one of the championship series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The action on Friday afternoon took place in just two periods, the first and the third. Garrett Gintoli got MSOE (10-6-2, 3-4-1 NCHA South) on the board, scoring an unassisted tally at 6:28 of the first period. Neither the Raiders nor Marian (11-7-0, 5-3-0 NCHA North) scored in the remaining minutes in the initial frame and all was quiet in the middle stanza. However, it was all Sabres in the third. Marian tied up the game just two minutes into the period and would add the game winning goal just a couple minutes later. The Sabres would get an empty net goal with three seconds left in the game to seal the deal and put the Red & White one game down in the best of two (plus mini game if needed) winner takes all series.
