Box Score MILWAUKEE – After starting 2022 off with an extremely unique outdoor game, MSOE men's hockey was back inside the Kern Center and ready to resume their NCHA conference season. The Raiders came to play and turned in a shutout performance against the Sabres of Marian on Wednesday evening for their first win of the new year.
FINAL SCORE
Marian – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It turned out that MSOE (4-7-2, 2-4-1 NCHA) only needed one goal to win tonight's ballgame as they turned in a stellar performance on their home ice. Preston Park scored the game winner at 14:17 thanks to assists from Eliot Friedow and Christian Sabin.
- Park wasn't done, however. He netted his second of the game early in the middle period with the helpers going to Dylan Hadfield and goalie Darius Bell.
- The Raiders defense played an integral role in the victory, keeping the Sabres scoreless throughout the contest and helping Bell earn the second shutout of his career
- David Marabella put the finishing touches on the game with an empty netter with 54 seconds left to down Marian by three.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders finally found a way to break through against Marian. The Sabres had been on a four-game winning streak against the Red & White dating back to January 2020.
- Tonight marked the second straight game that Darius Bell was credited with an assist. He also earned one back on January 2nd against Adrian in their outdoor game.
