Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's hockey was back at it less than 24 hours after netting their highest goal total since early December in a 5-2 win over Concorida Wisconsin on Friday night. The Raiders offense showed no signs of slowing down and matched that total in a four goal victory inside the Kern Center on Saturday afternoon.
FINAL SCORE
Concordia Wisconsin – 1
MSOE RAIDERS – 5
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It seems like good things come in fours lately. After finding the net on four separate occasions in the third period last night, MSOE (7-9-2, 4-5-1-1 NCHA) scored the exact same total in the opening frame of this afternoon's contest.
- Jack Nickels, Nigel Nelson, Garrett Gintoli, and Stian Owens all lit the lamp for the Raiders in the opening 20 minutes while the defense allowed Concordia Wisconsin (2-13-2, 1-8-0-0 NCHA) to get off just eight shots.
- Things slowed down on the offensive end from there. The Falcons got one back in the second period before Gintoli scored his second of the game to close out the scoring in the third.
- The Raiders threw 53 shots on net and never allowed CUW to reach double figures in any period in their 5-1 victory to sweep the regular season series.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders outscored the Falcons 10-3 this weekend and outshot their opponents 100-46.
- David Marabella led all players with 16 faceoff wins.
- Five different Raiders registered an assist, led by Matt Hanewall who had two.
