ROCKFORD, Ill. – The MSOE women's rowing team posted a top three finish at the Head of the Rock Regatta on Sunday, as the Raiders 8+ crew beat out University of Illinois and Washington University on their way to the podium.  The Raiders were on the cusp of greatness, as they were just second away from breaking the program record for a 5k.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- In the Women's Collegiate 4+, the Raiders crew of Paige Phillips, Grace Ivey, Ava Pike and Duaa Aljalous was joined by coxswain Lexy Mayo as they navigated the course in a time of 19:08.55, beating out Purdue and local rival Marquette.
 
	- The Women's Collegiate 8+ saw the Raiders nearly break the program record for a 5k but finished just a second off the pace they needed.  The Raiders crew from their "A" 4+ boat was joined by Ainelise Manzke, Mia Siedentopf, Amaya Santacruz and Jen Miller as coxswain Keith Perona led them to a top three finish in a time of 17:20.98, behind only Grand Valley State and Purdue.

The Raiders will look to break their record in their final competition of the fall at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Massachusetts, starting on Friday, October 17
th.
