Box Score AURORA, Ill. – Junior Logan Andryk assisted on a goal in each half to break the conference single-season assists record and help the MSOE men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Aurora Wednesday afternoon at Vago Field.
With the win, the Raiders (12-3, 6-0 NACC) remain perfect in the conference standings, while handing the Spartans (8-4-2, 3-3 NACC) their third NACC loss.
Andryk entered the match tied with Dominican's Matt Kochanowski (2007) for most assists in a season with 19, but surpassed that total in the 28th minute in helping set up senior Drew Porter's goal. He sent a free kick into the box and junior Michael Skow flicked the ball to Porter, who gave MSOE the 1-0 lead.
With the two helpers, Andryk now has sole possession of the record at 21, just one behind the national leader.
Senior Jorn Witte added an insurance goal in the second half, heading in an Andryk corner kick to make it 2-0 in the 53rd minute. It was Witte's sixth goal of the season.
The Raiders outshot Aurora 17-9 in the match and did not allow a shot on goal. Senior Garrett Farin played the entire match in goal and secured his sixth shutout of the season.
MSOE is the conference's lone unbeaten team, while Benedictine and Dominican are one game back in the loss column
The Raiders return to the field Saturday, hosting Concordia Wisconsin at 3:30 p.m.
