Carthage Outhits Raiders In Road Sweep

KENOSHA, Wis. - No. 4 Carthage hit .535 in handing the MSOE men's volleyball team a 25-17, 25-13, 25-12 defeat Wednesday evening at Tarble Arena.

The Raiders (4-14, 1-4 CVC) hit just .094 in the match, but could not overcome just seven attacking errors by the nationally-ranked Redmen (16-5, 6-0 CVC).

Sophomore Brett Herbers led MSOE with eight kills and seven digs, whule hitting .545. Freshman Scott Boyk added six kills.

Jon Storm finished with nine kills for Carthage, while three other players notched seven apiece.

The Redmen opened the match hitting .480 in the opening set and improved from there. They hit .524 in set two and closed out the match with a .600 attack percentage in the final frame.

The Raiders return to action Monday, hosting Cardinal Stritch at the Kern Center.
